First stall of the year at Rillington County Primary School

A photo showing the Mayor of Norton, Di Keal, and her Deputy, Martin Brampton, receiving the certificate of our renewal as Malton and Norton Fairtrade towns. Taken at our Spring Fairtrade and Craft Fair.

A social event. Members of the group went to Boggle Hole Youth Hostel for Fairtrade coffee and cakes and then back to Robin Hoods Bay for fish and chips.

In August we met our MP, Kevin Hollinrake, we gave him FT tea, coffee and biscuits for his office.

We had a stall at Morrisons during Fairtrade Fortnight, showing the range of FT goods that can be purchased in the store, thank you to Morrisons.
Also in September Trinity Methodist Church in Norton held a FT themed breakfast, tea, coffee, muesli and jams all FT. After their service they did an excellent early trade in Christmas cards.

Our annual Christmas shop in November was the usual success, as well as selling a wide range of FT crafts, chocolates and cards the event is also a social occasion with FT refreshments a big draw.

We have also had stalls at local Sight Support events, Norton Hive and Library, West Heslerton Primary School, in St Michael’s Church in Malton during Food Festival weekends as well as travelling to Pickering Methodist Church and several other local schools.
During 2024 we have sold over £2000 of FT crafts, chocolate and cards. Most items are under £5 and many are aimed at school children.
We have also had displays in local shop windows and given talks to various local organisations and schools.
